2012 Freshmen Scholarships Guideline
The freshman scholarships are to encourage and attract excellent students to apply to the Kean Cooperative Project and to study hard.
Freshman scholarships of this Project consist of: first-class freshman scholarship (30,000 RMB) and second-class freshman scholarship (15,000 RMB).
Eligibility for the freshman scholarships is based on the applicants’ scores of the College Entrance Examination in China.
1.First-class freshman scholarship
Applicants majoring in arts should have attained at least 20 marks above the first tier cut-off line; applicants majoring in science should have attained at least 30 marks above the first tier cut-off line.
2.Second-class freshman scholarship
1)For first tier students: arts majored ones should have attained at least 10 marks above the first tier cut-off line; science majored ones should have attained at least 15 marks above the first tier cut-off line.
2) For second tier students: arts majored ones should rank top 1,500 out of all corresponding second tier examinees; science majored ones should rank top 3,000 out of all corresponding second tier examinees.
The freshman scholarships can be renewed when the applicant:
1.has received the scholarship for the previous academic year;
2.excels both in academic performance and moral character, and has no violation of laws or the university regulations; and
3.ranks top 10% in GPA of the academic year among all the students in the same major.
V Evaluation Procedure
The Office of the Registrar will evaluate the applications and publicize the list of the eligible candidates according to this guideline. Eligible students will be awarded by the end of the academic year.
