Art Curriculum

Students are required to take a total of 2 credits in AE within four years (Spring or Fall). Each 1 credit course takes 1125min and Each 2 credit course takes 1350min each semester according to University calendar.

Course Description

Objective: To appreciate and understand the types of arts in both Chinese and western history; to get in touch with both traditional and contemporary art and foster creativity and practical ability; to be able to complete some simple crafts independently.

Graduated from China Academy of Art and is specialized in fresco and oil painting creation. Has won several prizes in art competitions of national level.

Course Description

Course objectives: To understand Chinese tea culture history, identify the erroneous zone of tea art in life, and have a preliminary understanding of brewing tea. Correctly learn tea art, and connect tea art to life.

Course content: Basic introduction to six major teas, the development of Chinese tea art, preliminary operation of glassware and tureen brewing, etc.

Course Description

Objective: To get to know the history of tea culture in China; to access at least the basis of tea art commands and knowledge; to link tea art with daily life.

Prerequisite: Obtain B or above in Chinese tea ceremony.

Course Description

Course objective: To help students understand basic sports dance ontology, improve body flexibility, coordination, flexibility and muscle quality, understand the relationships between body to body, body to space, and body to the, to improve the appreciation ability of dance, understand the basic constitutions of dance. To improve students’ aesthetic ability, imagination, creativity, and adjust the students’ mental and physical strength.

Course content: Modern dance, impromptu dance, choreography, assistive training, etc.

Course Description

Course objectives: To master the basic music knowledge and train the ability to practice; To cultivate good sight-singing and sight-reading abilities, including music literacy, sight-singing, notation, and the ability to accurately grasp the pitch, rhythm and tempo, speed, chord structure, musical scale, mode, and other kinds of music elements:

  1. To know and learn to distinguish the types of guitar.
  2. To know the structure of the folk guitar.
  3. To learn correct piano posture.
  4. To learn and be familiar with the way of plucking the string.
  5. To know six-line-spectrum, and learn the stopping way with left hand.
  6. To obtain abilities in six-line-spectrum’s sight-reading and numbered musical notation’s sight-reading, and the melody, chord, complex rhythm perception and expression, and the memory and perception of music. All these lay good foundation for improving the guitar playing.

Course content: Classical guitar solos and folk guitar playing and singing (solo is the basic content of course that students need to master and basic requirement that they should meet). Elective module (guitar playing and singing) is the content that students choose freely according to their actual needs.

Serves as the standing director of Wenzhou Guitar Association and the standing director and director of Equipment in Wenzhou Pop Music Association. Mainly teaches ballad guitar, classical guitar, electric guitar, electric BASS, and is strong at 4 big orchestrates of acoustic instruments and MIDI music audio clip. Abundant experience in teaching students to take guitar grading test and grading test of Chinese Conservatory of Music on folk guitar.

Course objectives: to enable students to independently read music, play simple music. And understand the basic music expression notation and simple music theory.

Course content: Mainly include basic music theory, elementary playing techniques (or student who has mastered some knowledge can choose to continue to learn).

Won the Third Prize in Toyata Asian Youth Piano Competition and Youth Gold Prize of Charm China,etc. Published a paper On Religiousness and Secularity of Bach Music.

Students have further improvement from their original level.

Be able to play some more difficult melodies.

Be familiar with music theories and be able to put them into practice.

Basic music theories; play techniques of elementary & secondary level (students who have studied piano before can choose to learn something more).

Course Description

Ukulele is commonly associated with music from Hawaii. It becomes more and more popular in China because of the portable size, cute shape and unique sound.

Course objectives:

To master a certain basis of music knowledge & skills, enrich students’ sense of timbre, cultivate the sense of rhythm, and develop music ability.

Course content:

Correct ukulele posture, C scale and its application, playing songs and singing with accompaniment.

Member of American Orff-Schulwerk Association (AOSA).

Attended a lot of ukulele workshops such as James Hill (Canada), Kimo Hussey (Hawaii), Alan Soo (Singapore), Annier & GJ.Lee (Taiwan), etc.

Has been spoken highly of by Professor Byron Yasui (Music Department of the University of Hawaii) and Kimo Hussey.

Can use cosmetics and their tools correctly.

Know the steps to put on makeups, the skills to adjust the color foundation and to modify facial features.

Understand your self-style.

Nude look; girl look; party look; smoky-eye makeup; Barbie doll look and so on.

A professional make-up artist. The make-up director of Xuejie Style company. The chief speaker of Luoke make-up training school.

She has been working in the area for more than 14 years, and has done various design jobs, including stage design, clothes design, style design and so on.

Diversified and professional work experience has provided her with a solid connection between her abundant theories and practice.

Her work has been published in many design magazines, such as Studio, Vision, and so on.

The goal of the course:

  1. To make the students understand the basic theory and knowledge of:

– radio and television journalism.

– Chinese broadcasting announcing.

  1. To make the students know the multidisciplinary knowledge relevant to the majors, like the knowledge of art and aesthetics;
  2. To make the students have the basic capability of radio and television broadcasting and program hosting.

Course content:

Broadcasting phonation, the foundation of broadcasting creation, divergent thinking, TV broadcasting and hosting, host’s status of public broadcasting, oral improvisation and so on.

Course Description

Course objectives: To build a solid foundation for the mastery of the subject matter of art appreciation, by providing introduction to the theory and concept of contemporary aesthetics, insofar as instruct the students on the analysis and interpretation of the beauty of painting, the beauty of nature, and the beauty of life.

By systematically and holistically introducing the history, development, and evolution of Western art forms, notable artists, and works of art in different eras, the students can appreciate the charms of Western art, understand aesthetic ideals and interests, and improve aesthetic accomplishment and quality.

Course contents: primitive art, Egyptian art, medieval art, Renaissance art, European art, and modern art in seventeen, eighteen and nineteenth century, etc.

As a graduate of Wenzhou University, Ms. Yu majored in art and design, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2013. Thereafter, Ms. Yu attended Tsinghua University, focusing on oil painting and art appreciation. Currently, Ms. Yu is working as an instructor in the fine arts, and is responsible for class material preparation and edit. Ms. Yu is a member of the Lucheng District Artists Association and “Fellow traveler” Art Workshop. Ms. Yu’s works have been featured in the “Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts 517 space”, “Road·Way”, and “Chasing Dreams in Lucheng district – Wenzhou Young Artists Works Exhibition”, etc.

Course objectives: To make the students master a certain basis of music appreciation, have preliminary understanding of the meaning of music appreciation, understand the basic context of western musicand the composition of music and the relationship between music and age; To preliminarily have the ability to distinguish music and acquire the basic ability of music appreciation and master the basic ability of music appreciation, understand the basic music expression notation and simple music theory and learn to choose appropriate music.

Course content: Summary of western music history, basic experience, the brief introduction of Chinese music development, appreciation of the types of music works, etc.
