College of Science and Technology-faculty

College of Science and Technology is committed to preparing students for outstanding scientific research in the future. The college aims to help students develop critical thinking and innovative thinking in the face of ever-evolving social, economic and technological environments. Promoting students and being able to work with related companies is the direction of our efforts. Based on this, we hope that these channels will enable students to provide valuable services to the society and create more opportunity in professional, intellectual and future developments for students. Our faculty have won many scientific external grants: two natural science funds, three provincial nature funds and four municipal project funds have been awarded during 2017-2018. At the same time, faculty have published 39 international journal articles, and 29 international journal articles have been published in the cooperation with faculty and students. Our college currently consists of three majors: Computer, Mathematics, and Biology.

DIRECTIONS:

Fill out your Curriculum Guide Sheet, 4 year plan or degree audit in ink; be sure it is the correct plan for your particular major and catalog year. Obtain the signature or stamp of your Dean or Dean’s designee.

Submit your completed application to the Office of the Registrar GEH D202 by the published deadline of FEBRUARY 02, 2018 FOR JUNE AND AUGUST 2018 GRADUATIONS

Applications received AFTER the above submission date will be accepted on a case by case basis.  These late submissions must be submitted with a letter of explanation as to why it’s late.  

SUBMISSION OF GRADES

Incomplete grades, all grade changes, repeat grade recalculations and pending transfer credits must be completed and posted to your record no later than two weeks after the graduation date.  For June degree candidates the deadline is May 31, 2018.  For August degree candidates the deadline is September 1, 2018.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to participate in the June 2018 Commencement ceremony, all required coursework must be completed by the end of the WKU Summer term 2018.

Examinations

The University provides examination services of College English Test (CET), Test for English Major Students (TEM) and Computer Rank Test of Zhejiang Province. Examination notice will be sent to students in due time and the examination procedures are shown as follows:

  • Sign up online
  • Pay the Exam fee
  • Check the Registration information
  • Information correct or Information incorrect
  • Correct information in the Office of the Registrar
  • Sign for the integrity pledge form and collect the exam admission card
  • Look up results online
  • Collect transcripts in the Office of Registrar

Transcripts & Documents Service

1. Schooling Certificate

Applicant should fill in the schooling certificate which can be downloaded from the University website and send the printed one to the Office of the Register to get approved.

2.Transcript Requests

Transcripts of academic records are obtained through the Office of the Registrar. Transcript requests must be made in writing, via KeanWISE or by completing forms provided in the Office of the Registrar or CAS One-Stop at least three days before the transcript is needed. At peak periods, more than three days may be necessary to process a transcript request. A fee of $10.00 is charged for each transcript. Transcripts will not be released if there are any outstanding obligations to the University. Official transcripts are mailed directly from the University; official transcripts stamped “Issued to Student” will be sent to students.

3.Grade Reports

Students can view and print term grades along with their entire academic record via KeanWISE. Grade reports are not mailed to students.


Procedures Processing

Change of Major

  • Notice for change of major released at the beginning of each semester
  • Hand in application form and relevant materials before the deadline
  • Check the information after the name list is published
  • Change of Major Name list Confirmed
  • Office of the Registrar reports to the Department of Education Zhejiang Province to alter student’s record

Note: 1.Freshmen can apply to change their major twice in the first academic year.

Suspension of Schooling

  • Fill in the suspension application form downloaded from the University website
  • Provide the hospital diagnosis certificate and permission from the University Medical Center if suspension for medical reasons
  • Process withdrawal procedures
  • Process student record alteration procedure

Note: 1.The unit period of suspension of schooling is one year and students can apply for continuous suspension of schooling once before the previous suspension expires.
2.During the suspension period, students will not be allowed to participate in teaching activities.

Resumption of Schooling

  • Fill in the resumption application form downloaded from the University website
  • Provide the resumption permission from the University Medical Center if suspension for medical reasons
  • Get the permission from the Office of Registrar
  • Pay the resumption fee in finance office
  • Process the student record alteration procedure

Note: 1.Student should apply for resumption of schooling before the suspension expires.
