Notification on Study Abroad Program to Kean University for Fall 2019

Given that, Study Abroad Program to Kean University in 2018 has achieved excellent results and recognition, as well as has efficiently enhanced cooperation between Wenzhou-Kean University and Kean University USA. We are very pleased to initiate again the Study Abroad Program to Kean USA for Class of 2020, 2021 and 2022.

1. PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS

Class of 2020, 2021 and 2022 WKU students

2. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Be in good academic standing in the university with a clear record of academic integrity and student conduct.
• Have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
• Have successfully passed all of their ESL classes and ENG1300, ENG 1430.
• Have approval from the student’s WKU academic adviser.

3．OTHER REQUIREMENTS

All students will be required to:

• Attend a mandatory International Student Orientation.
• Register for a one credit course of GE3000, a transition seminar for WKU students.

4. PROGRAM PERIOD

Fall Semester 2019

Note:

• This program is applied by semester. If students are intended to extend their study period, it is required to submit a new application to Students Career Development Center in WKU when the program application of next semester is opened.
• If student chooses to apply for continually studying in KU for the following long semester (Spring or Fall semester), they are not allowed to register courses of the short semester (Winter or Summer semester) in between at WKU.
• This program is an inter-school short-term program. Students are required to return to WKU before the beginning of the second semester of senior year, as a series of graduation procedures need to be dealt with personally for Chinese certified degree.

6. PROGRAM FEE

• Students who participate in “Study Abroad Program to Kean USA” need to cover all expenses by their own, including tuition fees, residential fees, a round trip ticket, insurance fee and living expenses. During the program, all above fees are paid directly to Kean USA. Wenzhou-Kean University will refund your tuition and accommodation fees during the attending semesters.
• If the number of applicants exceeds 20, tuition fees will be charged the same with New Jersey State students; but if applicants are less than 20, the tuition fee will be charged the same with the standard of international students. Meanwhile, tuition fees are calculated in accordance to course credits applied in Kean USA.
• The WKU tuition fee for this academic year will be refunded or subsequently charged based on “Implementation Rules of Interim Policy on Tuition and Fees”. The duration for calculating the tuition is decided by the student enrollment facts in KU provided by Students Career Development Center, in combination of the beginning and ending time of the courses. The duration for calculating the accommodation fee is based on the data provided by Student Affairs Office. For details, please refer to “Implementation Rules of Interim Policy on Tuition and Fees” (Appendix I and II). If student registers two consecutive long semesters (Spring or Fall semester) in KU, for calculating the tuition fee, their studying time in KU will be regarded as from the beginning day of the first semester to the ending day of the second semester.

7. ACCOMMODATION

All students are required to live in Kean’s residence halls during the first semester. Kean University USA will assign rooms for students before arrival.
