Biography
Joseph has earned two Master’s of Science degrees in Education from the State University of New York at Albany. Additionally, Joseph earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Both universities are part of the SUNY (State University of New York) system, which is the largest comprehensive system of higher education in the United States with 64 campuses. Joseph has a keen interest in international education and has more than 15 years teaching experience abroad, with 5+ years teaching in China and 9 years teaching in Japan. Joseph’s area of specialization including academic writing, business writing, and ESL classes.
Before teaching at the higher education level in China, Joseph has taught at the K-12 level in Japan for 9 years, both in the public school system as well at a private junior-senior high school. Joseph’s niche is in Asia, for he speaks Japanese and has traveled to nearly 30 countries, primarily in Asia. Additionally, Joseph has interest in hiking and exploring cultures, including local food and temples.
Joseph calls upstate New York home and enjoys viewing the sunsets from his patio during the summers.
