Amrita Kaur is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychology at College of Liberal Arts, Wenzhou-Kean University, China. She holds a doctoral degree in educational psychology and has taught both undergraduate and graduate level courses in psychology. In her 22-years of teaching career, she has taught in India, Thailand, Malaysia, and China. Amrita has made around 70 scholarly contributions which include publications in reputed journals such as Higher Education. Research & Development in Higher Education, Higher Education, Journal of Adolescence, Assessment & Evaluation in Higher Education, Teaching in Higher Education, and Children and Youth Services.

She was also the recipient of the ISSOTL (2020) fellowship. She serves as the editorial member for Scopus indexed journals – Malaysian Journal of Learning and Instruction and International Journal of Students as Partners.

Research interests

Amrita’s primary areas of research are teaching, learning, and assessment in higher education, students as partners, learning motivation and engagement, and adolescent development. Her research with doctoral and master dissertation students has mainly focused on learning engagement and motivation grounded in self-determination theory. Currently, Amrita is pursuing studies on the role of emotions and learning engagement. She is also undertaking multiple inquiries into students’ as partners practices.
