Biography

I grew up in both Cleveland, Ohio and Chicago, Illinois. Before becoming a university teacher, I worked for many years as a writer and editor in New York and Chicago. My first teaching job was at Oberlin College in Ohio. A few years later I moved overseas. Since then, I’ve taught in Dubai, Cairo, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and, now, China.
