Dear Students,
The Michael Graves College of Architecture and Design, in collaboration with the Design Innovation and Sustainability Center and the Student Committee on Sustainability (SCS), are thrilled to invite you to attend this year’s Let’s Charrette × Sustainable Campus Competition.
我们很高兴邀请您参加，由Michael Graves建筑与设计学院联合设计创新与可持续发展中心，温肯学生可持续发展协会（SCS）创办的Let’s Charrette ×可持续校园竞赛。
Let’s Charrette is an annual interdisciplinary competition, hosted both at Kean USA and Wenzhou-Kean University. The competition is designed to inspire students to develop creative thinking, teamwork, integrated design, and presentation skills. This year, the competition will be exclusively focused on building a Sustainable Campus to make students closer to the concept of sustainability (power-saving strategy for GeHekai Hall, food waste, excessive water consumption, recycling, etc.).
Let’s Charrette是一年一度的由美国肯恩大学与温州肯恩大学共同举办的跨学科竞赛。该竞赛旨在激发与提升学生的创造性思维，团队合作能力，综合设计能力与演讲技巧。今年，本赛事将聚焦可持续校园建设，让同学们对可持续发展这一概念有更深的了解（葛和凯楼节能策略，食物浪费，过度用水，回收利用等）。

Competition Process 
比赛流程
Participants are required to sign-up to the competition by scanning the QR code below and filling all the information. Each group should include maximum 5 students from at least 3 different majors. The deadline for registration is April 10. The selected groups are invited to attend the Competition Kick-off Event on April 11 at 18:00 in GHKH B209: this event is important because all the specific requirements of the competition will be explained. The Final Group Presentation, Winner Announcement & Awarding will be held on May 14 at 9:00 in GHKH D102. For further questions regarding the competition and registration, you can get in touch with the Student Committee on Sustainability by following their official WeChat account and sending the keywords “Code” to the platform.
参赛团队需扫描下方二维码，填写问卷报名。要求每个团队至少由3名不同专业的学生组成且总人数不得超过5人。报名的截止日期是4月10日。我们将邀请入选的团队参加4月11日18：00在GHKH B209举行的赛事说明会，我们会对所有比赛细则进行解释说明。最终的团队成果展示以及颁奖，将于5月14日9：00在GHKH D102举行。您可以通过关注温肯学生可持续发展协会（SCS）的微信公众号，向后台发送关键字“Code”或“比赛群”，来获取本次比赛咨询群二维码，以便咨询更多有关比赛和报名的问题。

Choosing the Mentor
选择导师
Each group should consult a mentor (a faculty or a staff from any college and department), confirm her/his availability and interest, and submit her/his name through the registration form. The deadline for registration is April 10.
每支参赛团队应确定自己的指导老师（导师可以来自任何学院或部门），事先与导师取得联系，确认其意愿，并于4月10日报名截止前提交含有指导老师全名的赛事报名表。
Competition Format and Requirements 
比赛形式和要求
Teams can start working on their projects from April 11 until the Final Group Presentation, while having regular review meetings with their chosen mentor (students and mentors can choose the best time for them to meet). Teams are required to submit their design concept proposal (100-300 words both in English and Chinese) and make a presentation (10 minutes for each team: 7 minutes presentation + 3 minutes Q&A).
从4月11日开始直至最终的成果展示，各团队可以自由进行项目设计，且在这期间积极与团队导师开展项目指导会议（学生和导师可以自由选择见面的时间）。最终，每个团队需要提交各自完整的设计方案（中英文各100-300字），并进行最终演讲（每个团队10分钟：7分钟演讲+ 3分钟问答环节）。
Main Requirements and Optional Forms of Works 
作品主要要求和可选形式
Integrated creative solutions that combine with WKU campus, reflect the concept of sustainable development, and embodies forward-looking ideas. Examples include immersive experience designs, social media campaigns, products, pieces of campus furniture, installations, sculptures, artworks, product-service systems, innovative business models, experiences, etc. Video/Motion/3D models/physical prototypes/posters/PPT/PDF/APP and/or other analog and electronic outputs are not limited. Bilingual proposals (English and Chinese) are required. Verbal Presentation has to be in English.
团队需结合温肯校园，来设计具有前瞻性并符合可持续发展理念的综合创新方案。比如沉浸式体验设计，社交媒体活动，产品，校园家具，设施，雕塑，艺术品，产品服务系统，创新商业模式，体验等。产出方式不受限制，可以为：视频/动画/3D模型/实体原型/海报/PPT/ PDF / APP以及其他的模拟或电子输出方式。每个团队需提交中英文双语设计项目提案，最终演讲需要全程使用英文。

A panel of experts will score each team according to the grading criteria illustrated during the Competition Kick-off Event.
