What Are Course Evaluations?

Course Evaluations are questionnaires given to students to provide feedback for their professors, programs, departments, schools, and college to improve the quality and effectiveness of instruction as well as student learning. The questionnaires include a series of questions in each of the following categories:

  • Course organization and planning
  • Faculty communication
  • Faculty/student interaction
  • Assignments, exams and grading
  • Instructional methods and materials
  • Course outcomes
  • Student effort and involvement
  • Course difficulty, workload and pace

There are two instruments that can be utilized for course evaluations: online/hybrid and face-to-face.
