Campus Selection | China Daily "21st Century Cup" National English Speaking Competition
The campus selection of the 26th China Daily “21st Century Cup” National English Competition will be held on March 27, 2021. Details of the competition are as follows:
Competition Procedure
1.Pre-registration: Click the link to sign up https://www.wjx.cn/vj/eEA2nMf.aspx ,
and scan the QR code to join the WeChat group of the competition;
2.Official registration: Complete the registration on the official website of 21st century English Speech https://contest.i21st.cn/college or via Wechat official account “21Century Cup English Speech”;
3.Script upload: Upload a 500-word speech script, as required by the host, to the above official website or Wechat official account. Deadline: 23:58, March 20, 2021;
4.Competition participation: Take part in the competition held at 13:00, March 27th, at GEH B302a.
Competition rules
The competition consists of three parts. The details are as follows:

2 min. The contestants draw lots to decide the speech content 15 minutes before the competition. |

1 min. The judges will ask questions according to the content of contestants’ speeches. The number of questions is determined by the judges. |
Awards
First Prize: 1 winner
Second Prize: 3 winners
Third Prize: 5 winners
Winners will receive a certificate from the organizer.
Excellent contestants can apply to join the WKU speech team.
About the competition
- In order to improve the quality of speech, contestants can book ELC one-on-one tutoring and apply to join the training of the speech team (limited seats available).
- The first prize winner will participate the Zhejiang Provincial Tournament on behalf of WKU.
