Weekly EC Video Learning Program

You are kindly invited to take part in the Weekly EC Video Learning Program held by the English Language Lab from March 29 to June 6. 

EnglishCentral (EC), an online English learning platform, contains tens of thousands of authentic video clips. Through EC’s approach of “Watch, Learn, and Speak”, users could improve their English in the aspects of vocabulary, listening, speaking, and pronunciation.

Participation 

• Scan the QR code below to follow ELC’s Wechat account. Every Monday and Wednesday, the ELL will announce one video lesson to be learned of the week in the Wechat account.

• Participants should book a practice session in the ELL. To reserve a seat in the ELL, please go to www.wku.edu.cn>MyWKU>ELC>STUDENT APPOINTMENTS>search activity, and click on the Register button. Then, type in your cellphone number and email address in the Remark, and click on Save.
• After completing the process of “Watch, Learn, and Speak” of the specific video clip, participants should answer the comprehension questions for the video. Upon finishing the questions, participants should check answers at the front desk. Participants could obtain one stamp on the achievement card if they get all questions of the two video clips correct.

Rewards 

• Participants with 3 stamps: a book on IELTS/TOEFL listening and a participation certificate;
• Participants with 5 stamps: a book on IELTS/TOEFL reading;
• Participants with 8 stamps: a book on IELTS/TOEFL writing;
• Participants with 10 stamps: a book on IELTS/TOEFL speaking.

N.B. Each reward is offered to the first 20 students who gain the required number of stamps.
