Assistant to Dean of Students & Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT)

Assists the Dean of Students and is responsible for managing multi-departmental collaboration within the BIT team. The BIT team aims to identify, assess, and intervene in student behaviors that may pose a threat to themselves or others. It provides support for students, prevents campus violence and other dangerous behaviors, and promotes a safe and healthy campus environment overall.

The Residence Life and Housing Center team consists of Resident Hall Directors (RHDs), Resident Assistants (RAs), and a Housing Specialist, and is responsible for the daily management, ideological education, individual care, accommodation services, and community cultural development for all students. The team is dedicated to  creating a safe and orderly learning-oriented living community.

Suntree Counselling Center

 

The center operates under a dual-system model. The professional counseling system offers a range of specialized psychological services, including individual assessments and counseling. The mental health education system creates a physically and mentally healthy environment through questionnaires, courses, workshops, and a series of mental health activities, helping students live and grow better during their time at school.

The OAS office provides assistance and support to students with special needs, aiming to enhance campus community awareness of disabilities and accessibility and ensure that these students can fully participate in campus life and enjoy equal educational opportunities and resources. Student Code of Conduct

Students of Wenzhou-Kean University are required to adhere to the university Student Code of Conduct and ensure that their guests follow the same standards. If a student violates any provisions of the Code, our office will address the issue according to established procedures and provide education, including convening a student conduct meeting or hearing to adjudicate the violation.

Dr. Zhu has been an integral part of the WKU community for over 11 years. Before her tenure as Dean of Students, she served as the liaison between KUSA and WKU, as the director of Special Counsel Office at KUSA, and led the WKU Center for International Studies. Additionally, she holds the position of Vice Chair for the Association of Wenzhou PhDs in the USA. Dr. Zhu collaborates effectively with the university community to develop, guide, and implement programs, initiatives, and operations that enhance the overall student experience and promote student success across the university.

Hu Gangbo had worked in the Registrar’s Office at Wenzhou-Kean University in March, 2012. He transferred to the Student Affairs Office in July 2013, and served as Coordinator of Student Affairs in October 2015. From September 2016, he takes the role to lead the Youth League Committee. From June 2018, he takes responsibility for student leadership center. Hu Gangbo obtained his bachelor degree in international business from Institute of Technology Carlow, Ireland and master in Supply Chain Management from Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland. His research interests are Youth League Committee and student affairs.

Xin Huang, he joined the Student Affairs Office of Wenzhou-Kean University in October, 2015. He is responsible for the team building of Residence Assistants and residential college activities. He obtained his bachelor degree in  piano performance from the Xi’An conservatory of music in 2014. After that, he studied in The University of Chichester and got his postgraduate degree of piano performance in 2015.

Lin Teng, joined WKU since July 2017 at department of Student Affairs as Administrative Assistant, in charge of file management,budget management,assets management and student one-stop service. She devote to improving student service processes, offering more convenience service for students. She graduated from EM Strasbourg university and master in management on April 2017.

Min Yin joined the WKU Student Affairs Office in August, 2018 and she now serves as Senior Coordinator of Residence Life and Housing Center. Min Yin obtained her bachelor degree in Teaching Chinese as second Language and Master Degree in comparative education from Zhejiang Normal University in 2004 and 2008.She had worked as student counselor in Wenzhou University before she joined Wenzhou-Kean University.

Xixi Hong, Financial aid office staff, joined the Student Affairs Office of Wenzhou-Kean University in March, 2017. She graduated with Master of Arts in Language Studies (Linguistics) from City University of Hong Kong in 2015. She had previously worked for Wenzhou Vocational & Technical College and Zhejiang College of Security Technology.

Jing Huang, joined the WKU Student Affairs Office in October, 2020, as an Residence Hall Director(RHD), is responsible for the management of Hall Council of the residence community. Graduated from the University of Leeds for master’s degree, majoring in TESOL and Zhejiang Ocean University for bachelor’s degree in Normal English. Worked as a middle school English teacher for 6 years.

Cindy Chen joined Wenzhou-Kean University in October 2021 and currently works in the Center for Leadership and Service Office of Student Affairs. She is responsible for student club activities and other student activities . She graduated from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China in 2017 with a degree in International Higher Education and previously worked at the Centre for English Language Education at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, where she was in charge of training programs, public courses, and business projects.

Yamin Cai joined WKU in August 2018. She is responsible for the Student Conduct Ofiice. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati with Bachelor’s degree in Psychology major. A Marketing master’s degree from UC as well. She holds the Marketing Research, Retail Management, and TEFL Certifications. She lived in the US for over 7 years, and she’s familiar with the cultural differences between China and the United States.

Su Yi, supervisor of WKU Suntree Counseling Center, with a master’s degree in clinical psychology, registered psychologist of Chinese Clinical and Counseling Psychology Registration System (x-17-080), national second-level psychological counselor, member of Association for University and College Counseling Center Directors, life member of Asian Academy of Family Therapy, member of American Psychological Association and Chinese Psychological Society. She has been trained in a three-year long-term Family Therapy of the German-Chinese Academy for Psychotherapy project, a three-year continuous training Sino-German Alumni Network in Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy program, a two-year project of China Clinical System Registered Supervisor. She also got continuous supervision from the APA and AAMFT approved supervisor, and got continuous clinical training and supervision with structural family therapist LEE Wai-Yung (AAMFT Approved Supervisor).

Sisi Zhao, full-time counselor of WKU Suntree Counseling Center, with a master’s degree in psychology, registered assistant psychologist of Chinese Clinical and Counseling Psychology Registration System (x-17-080), national second-level psychological counselor, member of Asian Academy of Family Therapy, American Psychological Association, and Chinese Psychological Society. She has been trained in the Family Therapy Clinical Theory Learning and Senior Supervision Project of Shanghai Aitia Family Institute and the “Year Round” Family Therapy Training Project of Shanghai East Hospital. She has also been trained in the Family Therapy Learning Group for more than 5 years and got continuous individual and group supervision.

Ning Wu, full-time counselor of WKU Suntree Counseling Center, with a master’s degree in college counseling, member of American Psychological Association and Chinese Psychological Society. She has been trained in the Structural Family Therapy Clinical Training of shanghai Aitia Family Institute and the “Year Round” Family Therapy Continuous Training Professional Course of Unity Academy.

Jiang Yiying work in Wenzhou-Kean University from May 2019 and is currently a RHD in Student Affairs. Bachelor’s degree in German majoring in Ningbo Technology University, postgraduate degree in German University of Giessen, majoring in teaching German as a foreign language and minor in German linguistics. During the postgraduate period, she had nearly one and a half years of German one-on-one teaching experience.

Jingkun Liu, joined Student Affairs Office of Wenzhou-Kean University in February 2021 and worked as Residence Hall Director. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Sports Economics and Management from the Chengdu Sport University. She was awarded the National scholarship and the Excellent Graduate of Sichuan Province. In 2020, she received her Master’s degree with Merit from the University of Edinburgh, majoring in Sports policy, Management, and International development.

Xiaona Ye joined Wenzhou-Kean University in Oct. 2020, who is currently the RHD of Ginkgo Hall A. She graduated from Warwick University in the UK with the Master degree of e-Business Management.

Hui Zhang is currently working as the Residence Hall Director(RHD)at Wenzhou-Kean University. She received her master’s degree in TESOL at the American University in May 2020. During the graduate program, she volunteered in teaching English to non-native English speakers and she also got a part-time job working as a dedicated tutor and academic writing tutor in the ACDC program of the American University.

Yixin Zhao joined the Student Affairs Office of Wenzhou-Kean University as a Residence Hall Director (RHD) in February, 2021. As for her undergraduate, she majored in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and Sociology in Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai and Saint Mary’s University respectively. Last year, she graduated with a Master’s degree in Education from King’s College London.

Yuxian Zhao, Accessibility Services Officer, joined the Student Affairs Ofiice of Wenzhou-Kean University in 2023. She graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Education (Honours) from Cardiff University in 2016, and obtained her Master's Degree in Early Years Education from Univeristy College London (UCL) in 2017. Worked as a college English teacher for five years.

Keyu Long, the intern counselor of Wenzhou Kean University Suntree Counseling Center. Graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a MSc in Counselling Studies. Member of Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland(COSCA), Counseling Skills Practitioner of COSCA, member of the American Psychological Association (APA). Trained in Person-centered and Psychodynamic approach by COSCA. Worked as a part-time psychology teacher and part-time counselor in University.

Ashley Zhu joined Wenzhou-Kean University in April 2023 and is responsible for managing the Student Government and Student Directors. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English (Journalism and Communication) from Communication University of Zhejiang and a Master's degree in Strategic Communication from the the London School of Economics and Political Science. She previously worked as a Product Operator for Alipay Mini Programs at Ant Group. She holds the TEM-8 and CATTI-3 certificates, and was awarded the EU Erasmus+ Scholarship and the title of Outstanding Graduate of Zhejiang Province.
