WHAT WE DO
- WKU International One Health Institute
(1) Environmental health research
Explore the impact of multidimensional environmental change on human health. For example, research and assessment of the cross-cutting impacts of air, water and soil pollution on human health, and the development of new monitoring and ecological management technologies; Explore the long-term impacts of global climate change on disease transmission, biodiversity and population health.
(2) Biological Health Research
Study of changes in the health of animal, fauna-microbial systems and their biosecurity. For example, to assess the contribution of biodiversity (including animals, plants, and microorganisms) to ecosystem stability and human well-being, so as to promote the improvement of the awareness of ecological and environmental protection in the whole society; To explore the effects of climate and environmental changes and the interecological relationship between organisms on the proliferation rate and transmission dynamics of infectious pathogens, vectors and non-human hosts, and to strengthen bioecological security measures.
(3) Socio-Eco-Economic and Policy Studies
To analyse the impact of socio-economic and human psychology on environmental health.
